Mr Faris Awartani is the founding board member and the Chairman of the FTTH Council MENA.

Mr Awartani has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunication industry and held many high level positions with regards to the Wireless telecommunications systems such as CEO of International telecommunications and Electronic corp (ITEC) in Palestine and he is currently the CEO of Moseco Group with operations in Saudi, Jordan, Palestine, Qatar, and the UAE.

Between 2001 and 2011 he grew his business portfolio by creating Bazy Trading and Contracting in Saudi,  he also established many companies such as ESCO Jordan and ESCO Saudi as main dealer for Fastlink and Zain Jordan and Saudi, and concluded a Joint-Venture with Kathrein Germany and created Kathrein ME.

Between 1997 and 1999 he was member of the International Chamber of Commerce of Jordan where He participated in the liaising between the International Chamber of Commerce and the International Chamber of Commerce office in Jordan in order to create awareness for the local business community about the ICC objectives and regulations to be as the reference for any possible conflict abroad.

Since 1997 and till date Mr Awartani set the policy and acted as strategy guider where he was one of the main investors in participating and reviewing the executive management’s performance, policies and goals achievement as the Vice Chairman and Board member of several companies and financial institutions such as the Jordan Gulf Bank (Jordan), Al Jallaf General Trading(UAE), Al Salam Investments (Jordan), Falcon Investments (Jordan) and the Chairman of the Board of FTTH Council MENA.

Faris holds a BS of engineering management and operations research from SMU,Texas, USA.

Christine Beylouni is the Director General of FTTH Council Middle East and North Africa since July 2011 and member of the FTTH Councils Global Alliance.

Christine carries more than 12 years of experience in the ICT industry and international background with continuous focus on the international business and regulatory issues. Over the last years, she headed the strategic regional and international affairs within organizations including operators to grow their regional and global business.

During her professional career Ms Beylouni acted as GSMA and ITU representative including the AREGNET, in the mobile sector in Lebanon, taking part of their global and international activities, meetings and conferences. In addition she concluded many partnerships with the international operators and associations worldwide with regards to international connectivity and general matters. She also handled the regulatory issues in the company through regular coordination with the regulator to ensure the regulatory compliancy within the company in terms of commercial & consumer affairs, Numbering plan, Spectrum & frequencies allocation.

In addition to her experience she has fulfilled her professional background with telecommunication courses from London Business School as well as Management and Leadership from international organizations in Canada and Europe. 

Gamal Hegazi is the founding board member of  the FTTH Council MENA. Gamal is a Solution architect with Alcatel-lucent Solutions & Marketing with responsibilities ranging from network design & architecture, business development, Solution marketing for the Africa & middle east region focusing on IP transformation, Ultra speed broadband and new innovative service introduction. A veteran of the ICT industry for the last 15 years, he holds a Master degree in Telecoms & information systems from University of Essex UK and BSc of Electronics from Cairo university. He has also worked with the Egyptian Cabinet information and decision support Center (IDSC) participating in the introduction of Internet service to Egypt with technical responsibilities ranging from planning to implementation of the ISP setup of the IDSC.  

Dr. Suleiman Al Hedaithy is a founding board member of the FTTH Council, Middle East & North Africa. He is also the president of Middle East Fiber Cable Manufacturing Co. (MEFC) located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since 2006.  During the past five years, MEFC expanded its operations to be the largest producer of optical fiber cables and related products in Middle East. Prior to joining MEFC, Dr. Al Hedaithy worked for Ministry of Defense and Aviation for more than twenty years during which he held several positions in fields on planning, budgeting, and research. He actively participated in the development of the National Science & Technology Plan and the National Information Technology Plan representing the Ministry at the national level.  He took early retirement from government while he held the position of Director of Research & Statistics department. Dr. Al Hedaithy was also involved in consultancy projects in industrial business development, information technology, and private equity.

Dr. Al Hedaithy holds a Doctor of Science degree and a master’s degree in management information systems from George Washington University, USA. He holds a B.S. degree in business statistics from the University of Tennessee, USA. Dr. Al Hedaithy also serves as a board member in several industrial organizations. 

Tony is part of Cisco’s  Corporate Compliance team for the Middle East and Pakistan, in the overall Emerging Markets Theatre.
His role is multifaceted encompassing internal and external liaison with Telecom Regulators and Ministries, Cisco sales and country managers as well as the Cisco partner community. He Works on product compliance and certification related tasks for the Arab World.
Tony joined Cisco In 2008 as EMC Compliance Engineer for the Middle East region.
Tony holds a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Multimedia Computer Systems with merit from the University of Birmingham, UK
